Klout is a website and mobile app that uses social media analytics to rank its users according to online social influence via the “Klout Score,” which is a numerical value between 1 and 100. Klout primarily uses Facebook and Twitter for login at the moment, but you can connect many different social media platforms such as your; personal Facebook page, Google+, Linkedin, Foresquare, YouTube, Tumblr, Blogger, WordPress.com, Flickr, Yammer, and Last.fm within your profile to measure a person or companies over engagements and interactions.
To determine ones overall real social reach Klout uses 3 different metrics to measure different types of influences:
- True Reach= Amount of people who are looking and paying attention to the particular post. This metric is related to; total followers, likes per post, and, comments per post.
- Amplification Probability= Measures what happens after a post has been posted, do they start conversations, or are you “talking to yourself.” This metric has to do with likes, comments, and retweets.
- Network Influence= This chart measures how influential your friends and followers are.
Klout Perks are exclusive rewards given to content creators. Every day, Klout users receive amazing products, special discounts and VIP access because of their online influence on certain topics. These perks are rewarding for the Klout user which pushes them to continuously generate influential content to their audience.
It is important as a company or even a person to connect all of their social media outlets to see exactly how influential their posts are and how much meaning their content is creating to their social media followers and friends. For businesses, Klout displays their business analytics aimed at helping business and brand users learn about their online audiences.
