Klout is a website and mobile app that uses social media analytics to rank its users according to online social influence via the “Klout Score,” which is a numerical value between 1 and 100. Klout primarily uses Facebook and Twitter for login at the moment, but you can connect many different social media platforms such as your; personal Facebook page, Google+, Linkedin, Foresquare, YouTube, Tumblr, Blogger, WordPress.com, Flickr, Yammer, and Last.fm within your profile to measure a person or companies over engagements and interactions.
To determine ones overall real social reach Klout uses 3 different metrics to measure different types of influences:
- True Reach= Amount of people who are looking and paying attention to the particular post. This metric is related to; total followers, likes per post, and, comments per post.
- Amplification Probability= Measures what happens after a post has been posted, do they start conversations, or are you “talking to yourself.” This metric has to do with likes, comments, and retweets.
- Network Influence= This chart measures how influential your friends and followers are.
